The Excelsior Springs City Council unanimously approved a conservation easement agreement with the Missouri State Historic Preservation Office to help preserve the historic Hall of Waters. The city received a federal grant, “Saving America’s Treasures,” for preservation efforts, which includes imposing a 50-year easement on the Hall of Waters property.

Excelsior Springs nearly got its first win this season in varsity basketball during last week’s Lawson Invitational. After dropping their tournament opener 60-45 to eventual runner-up West Platte Jan.

With a 49-37 victory over Richmond Jan. 17, Excelsior Springs varsity girls basketball coach JD Biermann and his Tigers accomplished two feats: They took fifth place at the Lawson Invitational and they avenged an earlier loss to the Spartans.

In a move to adapt to changing state requirements and address the concerns of teachers, students and parents, the Excelsior Springs School District has approved a school calendar for the 2025-26 academic year.

Dr. Sara Wickham, Principal of Excelsior Springs High School, is pleased to announce the Principal’s Honor Roll for Semester 1 of the 2024-2025 school year. Students must have an A- (3.66) grade point average with no grade below a B-. * Notes student had straight A (4.00) grade point average or higher.
