Excelsior Springs returned to its winning ways last week in varsity boys soccer. The Tigers did so by posting back-to-back shutouts, crushing Winnetonka 7-0 Sept.
Excelsior Springs has gotten on a hot streak in varsity volleyball. After an 0-4 start, the Tigers had won nine of their last 12 matches entering Thursday’s meeting with visiting Grandview.

The Excelsior Springs Board of Zoning and Adjustments recently passed a new variance allowing QuikTrip to have a new sign for their up-and-coming Excelsior Springs location. Doug Hermes, the city planning consultant, addressed the board and presented the application explained under city ordnance chapter 403 which states signs placed “must not exceed a maximum of 100 square feet.” QuickTrip requested to install their sign with a square footage area of approximately 118.45 square feet.
The Lawson Community is mourning the death of a Lawson High School Student after a tragic vehicle wreck last week. Lawson Fire Department, Ray County Sheriff’s Department, Wood Heights Fire Department, Ray County Ambulance, Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) and Life-Flight responded to the area of Atkins Road and Route C on a report of a single-vehicle accident, around 8:58 p.m.
