Wood Heights man arrested for child abuse
A Wood Heights resident has posted bond for felony and misdemeanor charges.
Thomas A. Hupp, 34, is facing a felony charge of abuse or neglect of a child and a misdemeanor of fourth-degree domestic assault.
Hupp was arrested on May 15 and bond was set at $3,000, with conditions including appearing in court as required, submitting to all orders, not committing any new offenses, and not tampering with any victim or witness.
He posted a $300 bond on May 21.
According to the complaint filed by Ray County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Tara Medlin, the range of punishment for the Class D felony of child abuse is imprisonment in the custody of the Missouri Department of Corrections (MDC) for a term not less than one year and not to exceed seven years; or imprisonment for a special term not to exceed one year in the county jail or other authorized penal institution; or by a fine not to exceed $10,000; or by both imprisonment and fine.
