SHARON POWELL mayoral proclamation EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – During a City Council meeting, Mayor Sharon Powell issued a proclamation recognizing World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.
JEFFERSON CITY – Each year, an estimated 5 million older adults are abused, neglected, bullied or exploited, Department of Health and Senior Services information states.
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The team slots for the Gregg Williams Tiger Golf Classic are getting filled for the morning round. As of Tuesday afternoon, 22 foursomes had signed up for the morning session of the tournament, slated for July 9 at Excelsior Springs Golf Course, Gregg Williams Foundation Inc.
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Last Friday afternoon’s thunderstorms played havoc with trees and limbs, caused power outages and damaged roofs in Excelsior Springs. No injuries resulted.
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Longtime NFL coach Gregg Williams remembers watching Excelsior Springs varsity football as a boy. Specifically, Williams remembers watching the Tigers from 1964 to 1967, when they went undefeated under coach Vic Bonuchi.
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Excelsior Springs Hospital CEO Kristen DeHart and her staff received community feedback from 2020 that they plan to use to help improve hospital services. During the City Council’s general meeting May 17, DeHart shared her report for fiscal year 2020, including survey data.
EXCLESIOR SPRINGS – Mayor Sharon Powell issued a proclamation in recognition of Juneteenth, a celebration of the Emancipation Proclamation issued during the Civil War by President Abraham Lincoln to free the slaves.
JEFFERSON CITY – After the new Clay County commissioners dropped lawsuits former Commissioners Gene Owen and Luann Ridgeway had filed to fight a state audit, Auditor Nicole Galloway’s office provided an audit update.
