Allen Lynn Hunt, 73, passed away June 15th, 2025, at North Care Hospice House. He was born August 1, 1951, in Excelsior Springs to Lynn and Rosalie Hunt. He was a 1969 graduate of Excelsior Springs High School. He then joined the United States Army and served in Vietnam. He became a deputy with the Clay County Sheriff’s Department in 1980, retiring after 30 years of service in 2010.

Allen was preceded in death by his father Lynn Hunt and grandparents.

He is survived by his wife Susan Hunt; daughter Mandy Chapman (Cody); granddaughters Brylie Chapman and Ashlynn Chapman; brother Robert Hunt and his wife, Chris; and four legged companions Tony and Molly.

Allen’s services will be held Thursday June 19th, with a visitation 1-2 p.m. and a memorial service at 2 p.m. at Flack Memorial Christian Church in Excelsior Springs.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
