Evelyne Morgan 

In Loving Memory of Evelyne Belle Morgan Sept. 28, 1953-Aug. 5, 2026 Evelyne Belle Morgan passed away peacefully Aug. 5, surrounded by her loved ones.

Evelyne was born Sept. 28, 1953, in Excelsior Springs to Earl and Helen Coates.

Evelyne was a loving mother and friend. She had a generous spirit and a kind heart. Evelyne never met a stranger.

In 2004, Evelyne moved to the Lake of the Ozarks. It was her happy place. She loved spending time with family and friends on the lake.

Survivors include Evelyne’s significant other, Terri Lovekamp; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Keith Wetzel; and son, Jon LaPee’.

Her grandchildren include Christopher Wetzel (Amy), Blake Wetzel (Amanda), Emily Wetzel (Colin), Alex Thornton, Shane LaPee’, Jameson LaPee’, Octavia La-Pee’ and Samara LaPee’. She also is survived by her great-grandchildren, Kaden Wetzel and Paisley Wetzel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, the aforementioned Earl and Helen Coates; and her brother, Lillard “Butch” Coates.

A celebration of Evelyne’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at the Elks Lodge, 421 S. Titus Ave., Excelsior Springs.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
