ES boys soccer winning stretch ends
Excelsior Springs varsity boys soccer coach Zac Ganzer and his Tigers were looking to start a new winning streak entering Wednesday’s regular-season finale with visiting Grandview.With Monday’s home loss to Smithville, the Tigers saw their most recent winning tear end at 10 games. The Greater Kansas City Suburban Conference-Blue Division defeat also snapped their stretch of six consecutive shutouts. That string included a 6-0 thumping of Raytown South Oct. 21 at Ray South and a 3-0 victory over Center Oct. 24 at Tiger Stadium.Senior Kolin Kincaid scored the opening goal in the win over Ray South, with junior Brady Schoonover assisting him. Kincaid scored again in the 56th minute, this time with senior Easton Ryan assisting.Senior Jacob Zapata’s unassisted goal made it 3-0 in the 62nd minute.
