Winning streak ends for ES volleyballers
A winning streak ended last week for Excelsior Springs in varsity volleyball – and a new losing skid began.The Tigers extended their winning streak to three matches by sweeping Raytown South 3-0 Oct. 1 at Ray South. The streak then ended Oct. 3, when Excelsior Springs got swept 3-0 at Smithville.Excelsior Springs won its sets with Ray South 25-22, 25-11, 25-12. Junior setter Lillah Shue guided the Tigers offensively with 31 total assists.Junior Jordin Price, and seniors Lundyn Smith and Kenzlee McDaniels were among those who slammed those assist passes. Price led the Tigers with 12 total kills, followed by Smith with eight and McDaniels with seven.Price also led Excelsior Springs defensively with 16 digs.
