Lumsden enters not guilty plea

Body An Excelsior Springs resident entered a plea of not guilty to multiple charges, including armed criminal action, during a criminal setting hearing earlier this week.

Body The Excelsior Springs Police Department reported the following arrests handled recently by the department. WEDNESDAY, MAY 17 At 12:51 p.m., Curtis Walters, 52, was arrested for civil commitment.

Wilderness Camp offers summer fun for all ages

NTRC Horses heal, promote growth

Body Equine therapy utilizes a connection between people and horses to increase physical and emotional healing. The Northland Therapeutic Riding Center (NTRC), located in Holt, MO, is a non-profit organization helping children ages 4 and over with special needs.

Deputies respond to call of shots fired

Body The Clay County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report from an unidentified caller claiming he shot multiple people who had broken into his home. With the help of Clay County Dispatch, deputies were able to answer the call, which came in at 7:30 p.m.
