’Cats sport new jerseys in season finale

CONCORDIA – Orrick softball fans got to see the Bearcats display their 2024 jerseys in their last game of 2023. The Bearcats wore the black jerseys with yellow letters and numbers on May 5, when they fell to Kingsville 17-1 in four innings in the Class 1 District 8 Tournament at the Concordia Ballpark Complex.

The Excelsior Springs City Council has proclaimed May as Building Safety Month and Historic Preservation Month. Building Safety Month offers residents solutions to improve the safety, affordability, sustainability and resiliency of communities and buildings within the area.

Mayor hosts breakfast for community

An estimated 250 people, including business owners and government leaders, gathered for the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast held recently to pray for and honor Excelsior Springs. Select performances from Job Corps Color Guard was followed by Tim Harlan leading the Excelsior Springs High School Choir, setting the stage for guest speakers to come forward and share their thoughts and prayers with the community.

The Excelsior Springs Police Department reported the following arrests handled recently by the department. TUESDAY, APRIL 4 At 7:25 a.m., Tifanie Adams, 36, was arrested for delivery or possession of a controlled substance at a county/private jail/correctional center except with a written prescription, and an outside warrant service.

For Aaron Holst, getting his 300th win as the Excelsior Springs varsity baseball coach with a 13-5 thumping of Raytown April 28 was a reflection of how he has spent part of his adult life. “I think it’s mainly a sign that I’ve been doing this a long time,” Holst said minutes after achieving the milestone at Tiger Stadium.
