EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – School district personnel will receive raises for 2022-23. On May 9 at the Support Services Center, the Board of Education approved 4% pay hikes to base salaries and a salary schedule step for administrators; certified staff members; PAT/tech workers; Rockin’ Tiger Club personnel; and nurses, licensed practical nurses, maintenance workers and administrative assistants, or “classified” employees. Based on meeting minutes, the board also approved setting the base minimum wage at $12 per hour, with a salary schedule step raise, for assistants, crossing guards, custodians and Secretary-2 personnel. The board set $39,000 as the certified staff base salary – up $1,500 from this year, Superintendent Travis Hux told district leaders. The raises help meet a district Comprehensive School Improvement Plan goal of staff recruitment and retention, Hux said.
