City leaders honor those who serve, strengthen the community
Through a series of proclamations, Excelsior Springs city leaders turned the spotlight on community impact, recognizing the people and efforts that help define the city.The proclamations included recognition of Teacher Appreciation Week, National Nurses Week, National Hospital Week, Older Americans Month, National Preservation Month, Missouri Local Government Week and Building Safety Month.The first proclamation recognized Teacher Appreciation Week, observed May 4-8 , highlighting the role educators play in guiding and supporting students both academically and personally.“ Teachers are the role models who uplift students and unlock their potential through their character, compassion, creativity and resilience,” the proclamation states. “ Our country’s success depends upon our educators providing quality education to all students and in showing our children how to work hard to achieve a successful future.
