City’s residents share COVID-19 experiences
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Consulting the Excelsior Springs Area News and Events, and the Daily Deals Facebook group, revealed stories about COVID-19’s impact on area residents.
People addressed several issues: “How has this crisis impacted you? Have you lost your job? Is your business being hit? How has life changed?”
Over 150 residents shared stories of being out of work or being essential and having to work; missing hugs from loved ones; and small business owners shared their pain.
SUDDENLY JOBLESS
Kendra Clevenger found herself quarantined from work for two weeks after coming into contact with someone who had the virus.
Jana Schlossenberg reported that losing her part-time job means she cannot buy extras for the children. Her husband’s hours were cut, too.
Timothy Britton shared that looking for work is difficult. Grocery stores and Amazon are hiring, but most area jobs are on hold.
Julia Terry shared she has not worked at an area restaurant in weeks. Because she is immune…
