Clay County swears in commissioners
Clay County’s expanded commission is in place.
On Jan. 3, Jerry Nolte, Jason Withington, Jay Johnson, JoAnn Lawson and Scott Wagner were sworn in at the commission chambers. Nolte was sworn in as presiding commissioner, a position he has held since 2015, Ballotpedia states.
Johnson and Withington were sworn in to represent the Western District. Withington is serving as an at-large commissioner.
Lawson and Wagner took the oath of office to represent the Eastern District. Lawson is serving as an at-large commissioner.
Nolte, Johnson and Wagner were elected to four-year terms in the November 2022 general elections. Withington and Lawson won twoyear seats. They’ll join two sitting commissioners: Megan Thompson
of the Eastern District
and Jon Carpenter of the Western District.
