With the new school year approaching, Excelsior Springs School District is helping families prepare with back-to-school resources, information and upcoming events.

The Back-to-School Resource Fair will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 18 in the Excelsior Springs Middle School gym. Free school supplies will be available for district students in pre-K through 12th grade while supplies last. Those with questions or interested in donating can contact Kim Curtis at 816-365-0350.

In addition to the fair, families will have an opportunity to visit their students’ schools during upcoming open houses.

Elkhorn, Lewis and Cornerstone Elementary Schools will welcome students and families from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 19. Excelsior Springs Middle School and High School will hold open houses from 5:30 to 7 p.m. the same day.

The Career Center will hold its open house from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Aug. 20.

Following the open houses, students will return for the first day of school Aug. 24.
