Unofficial election results released
With only 12.19% of registered voters choosing to cast ballots April 8, unofficial General Municipal Election results have been released by Clay County Board of Elections Commissioners, with all precincts reporting.Of the 186,347 registered voters in Clay County, only 22,712 chose to vote in the recent election.Kalyn Goode and Charles (Tray) Harkins III, have been elected to the school board. Goode received 1,394 votes (33.76%), while Harkins secured 1,192 votes (28.89%). Anna Sue Spohn garnered 962 votes (23.30%), and write-in candidates collectively received 56 votes (1.36%). There were 536 undervotes, accounting for 12.98% of the ballots. A total of 4,140 votes were cast in this race.Voters rejected the proposed measure for a $0.70 increase tax levy per $100 of assessed valuation, bringing the school district’s levy from $5.2262 to an estimated $5.9262.
