Market season begins with strong support, fresh energy
The smell of barbecue, the bounce of inflatables and the buzz of hundreds of shoppers welcomed the return of the Excelsior Springs Farmers Market, marking the start of a new season filled with fresh produce, local artisans and family- focused fun.Held for the first time at 206 Veterans Memorial Drive, the evening market drew an estimated 275 visitors, with both familiar faces and first-time attendees showing up to support the weekly event. Despite a hiccup with the SNAP/EBT processing system, organizers called the opening night a suc- cess.“Opening night went well – we had an estimated 275 shoppers,” said Market Manager Tammy Murphy. “Several families attended and several of our shoppers from last season returned as well.
