School plans for future facility needs

With many of the projects from its previous long-range facilities plan now complete, the Excelsior Springs School District is turning its attention to identifying future building needs and long-term priorities.

The Board of Education recently approved a $35,000 agreement with Incite Design Studio (IDS) to update the district’s long-range facility plan. The planning process will evaluate building conditions, facility capacity and long-term improvement priorities while incorporating feedback from students, staff, community members, administrators and the board to develop an updated Facility Master Plan.

Incite Design Studio Director and Client Leader Ariel Peisen Burow explained the district has completed many of the projects identified in its previous long-range facilities plan, which was developed in 2017 and 2018.
