With only two open seats on the Wood Heights Board of Aldermen, voters will determine who will fill those vacant seats at the April 4 election. The three candidates vying for a spot on the board are incumbent Kathy Hart, 55; David Stephens, 38; and Bernard Allen Jr.

“The qualifications for anyone running for a council is they have to live within their district, must have all their taxes paid up and be a registered voter,” said Ray County Clerk Heather (Graff) Maulsby.

In order to assist area residents to be informed of candidate choices, The Richmond News requested each candidate to complete a questionnaire that included background information and addressed several issues.

Allen declined responding to the questionnaire.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION Hart – A Wood Heights resident since 2011, she and her husband, Darren, have three children and five grandchildren. If re-elected, this would be Hart’s third term on the board.
