Doreen Frances Chandler, 73, of Dearborn passed away peacefully Sept. 24, 2025, surrounded by her family.

She was born Nov. 9, 1951, on Tinker Air Force Base, Okla., to Frances and Marlin Legault.

Doreen was most proud of her children and grandchildren, as well as earning her master’s degree in science education.

She will be remembered for her love of cooking, gardening, movies and The Beatles.

Doreen touched many lives as a mother and an educator. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her husband, Sheldon Chandler; children, Alison Smith, Ambrose Alberts and Dallen Chandler; and grandchildren, Maxwell Alberts and Ava Smith.

She was preceded in death by her father, Marlin; brothers, Darrell and David; and sister, Sandy.

A special Mass will be held at 10:45 a.m. Oct. 26 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Weston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Twelve Apostles Parish and the Knights of Columbus of Twelve Apostles Parish in her memory.
