Lavene May Gillette-Cline-Baker, 96, passed away July 5, 2021.
Lavene was born to John and Grace Gillette on Aug. 25, 1924, in Arma, Kansas. She graduated James H. Bowen High School in Chicago, Illinois. She had worked at Goldblatt’s Department Store, Lake City Ordinance Plant, N.B. Hesse Insurance Co, and the Coast-to-Coast Store in Excelsior Springs, MO. She had belonged to Mosby Baptist Church years later Lawson Baptist Church and was a current member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Lawson, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters and six brothers; son, Jerry and wife Donna Cline; and two husbands, Clarence Cline and George Baker.
She is survived by her son, Tom and wife Lynda, Jesse and wife Stefanie Cline; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 9:30-11 a.m., Friday, July 9, 2021 at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, 217 W. Broadway, Excelsior Springs, MO. with service following. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Excelsior Springs, MO.
