Martin Nicholas Hormell, 42, a resident of Excelsior Springs, died Saturday, May 16, 2026, at his residence.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 23, at Resthaven Mortuary, Trenton. A family visitation was held 1-2 p.m. Saturday, May 23, at the mortuary.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice and may be left with the mortuary.

Mr. Hormell was born Aug. 7, 1983, in Chillicothe, the son of Martin Dale Hormell and Candy Jayne Nichols.

He was a self-employed painter. Survivors include his fiancé, Ashley Olivia Danielle Bigby, Trenton; two daughters, Nevaeh Hormell and Elizabeth Madeline Rose Hormell, Excelsior Springs; and four sons, Martin Evan Donald Hormell of Excelsior Springs, William Jordan Lee Hormell of Chillicothe, Aidean Odea Dillion Bigby and Jace Axel Cole Pollard. Other survivors include one sister, CJ Hormell of Excelsior Springs; one brother, Cameron Richie of Breckenridge; and two nieces, Kiera Jayne Hormell and Khai Elsie Winn.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
