Last week, the Tigers scored more goals in two games of varsity girls soccer than they had in their first four games combined. They had only one victory, however, to show for all that scoring. Excelsior Springs scored 10 goals in the two games – a 5-4 April 4 home loss to Van Horn of Independence and a 6-0 thumping of Grandview April 6 at Grandview. Junior Abby Rash picked up two goals against Van Horn, with the first goal coming off an assist from senior Khilee Costello and the second from senior Lauren Mueller. Neveah Happy and Bailey Carder each contributed a goal in the defeat. Happy, a first-year high schooler, scored off an assist from Costello.
