Liam Hedding cracked the top 50 in his final cross country meet this season.The Excelsior Springs junior finished 44th at Class 4 District 4 competition, held Nov. 2 at Jesse James Park in Kearney. Hedding ran the 3.1-mile boys race in 18 minutes, 55.02 seconds.Hedding’s time was 1:54 shy of securing the final spot for the Class 4 state meet, slated for Saturday at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia.
