MLB offers Royals, Cards fans classic baseball games
NEW YORK CITY – Because of the coronavirus pandemic, baseball fans in Excelsior Springs obviously cannot take in a Kansas City Royals game at Kauffman Stadium or a St. Louis Cardinals game at Busch Stadium.
They can, however, take in a “classic” Royals or Cardinals on television or online.
On March 26, as part of its “Opening Day at Home” campaign, MLB offered telecasts and online streaming of 30 games – one spotlighting each major-league team. MLB continues offering online links to the games on its website.
The Royals game is Game 5 of the 2015 World Series. Kansas City rallied twice that game to defeat the New York Mets 7-2 in 12 innings and take the best-of-seven series 4-1.
Cardinals fans can watch Game 6 of the 2011 World Series. St. Louis defeated the Texas Rangers 10-9, courtesy of David Freese’s 11th-inning solo home run. The Cardinals went on to win Game 7 6-2 for their 11th World Series title.
