COLUMBIA – Seniors Jacey Brewer and Tyler Rumore placed among the top 100 for Excelsior Springs at Class 4 state cross country competition.

Brewer placed 97th in the girls competition, running the 3.1-mile, or 5-kilometer, race Nov. 5 at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course in 21 minutes, 2.5 seconds. Rumore finished 98th in the boys race in 17:35.7.

Also, senior Mason Freece was the highest Hardin-Central boys finisher in Class 1 state competition, placing 112th in 19:46.7 Nov. 6.
