EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The black and gold went 0-3 last week in varsity boys tennis matches, falling to Carrollton, Harrisonville and Warrensburg. On April 5, the team visited Carrollton, falling 7-2.

CHILLICOTHE – The Tigers had “a great night” April 1, when they visited Jerry Litton Memorial Stadium for the Chillicothe Invitational, coach Jonah Albertson said. “By the end of the meet, we had an impressive total of 44 p.r.’s (personal records)!” Albertson said.
CARROLLTON – In late March, KMZU announced its latest Dream Teams for high school boys and girls basketball. Excelsior Springs juniors Mallory Millsap and Rylie Stottlemyre made the cut for the girls team.
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The varsity tennis team got to stay home last week. Excelsior Excelsior Springs hosted back-to-back home duals, falling 9-0 March 30 to Warrensburg and defeating Lexington 6-3 April 1.
RAYTOWN – Allowing big innings has sent the Tigers into a losing skid. After opening the varsity baseball season with a win over Mexico, Excelsior Springs had lost five straight through Tuesday, including three games this past weekend.
CLINTON – The Tigers wasted no time in getting their first win of the varsity boys tennis season, sweeping Clinton 9-0 March 26 in their season opener in Missouri River Valley Conference action. “It was great to be able to open up the season with a win,” coach Richie Marsh said.
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Hope Chappel will be an Eagle in a few months, but she will remain a Tiger at heart. The Excelsior Springs senior has signed a letter of intent to continue her education and golf career at Central Methodist University in Fayette.
