EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – One path many would-be collegiate studentathletes pursue to take their athletic dreams to the next level is playing multiple sports at the high school level. Excelsior Springs sophomore Bailey Carder is one person who is pursuing that path.

ST. JOSEPH – It appears Excelsior Springs High School graduate Sam Webb will have one more full season of playing NCAA Division II football.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Coach Zac Ganzer and his Tigers got into the Olympic spirit during last week’s high school boys soccer camp at Tiger Stadium. In a nod to the latest Summer Olympics, slated to conclude Sunday in Tokyo, the Tigers continued a program tradition by staging their own mock-Olympiad.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – This week, the athletic facilities at Excelsior Springs High School are unoccupied. As mandated by the Missouri State High School Activities Association, the first week of August is the dead week before fall sports practices begin.

There needs to be more Olympic sports, especially Summer Olympic sports. This realization was sparked in part from watching parts of NBCSN’s marathon coverage of the XXXII Olympiad, slated to conclude Sunday in Tokyo.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Broc Dusek will probably be among the upperclassmen coach Aaron Holst will look to lead the Tigers in varsity baseball in 2022, based on what Dusek did as an underclassman in 2021.

MELBOURNE, Florida – A foursome of future Excelsior Springs High School varsity baseball players brought home a second-place finish last week from the Elite World Series at the Space Coast Sports Complex.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Like many student-athletes at Excelsior Springs High School, senior Rylie Stottlemyre plays more than one sport. Stottlemyre plays volleyball and basketball for the Tigers.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Gregg Williams Foundation has about $45,000 more to go toward helping area youth, thanks in part to three current superstar pro football players and one gridiron legend. On July 9 at Excelsior Springs Golf Course, the foundation staged the Gregg Williams Tiger Classic golf tournament, followed by a sports memorabilia auction.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The summer recreation season is winding down. The city is wrapping up its summer T-ball, softball and baseball programs, which included 211 participants ranging from pre-K through the eighth grade.
