Body HIGGINSVILLE – For the second straight season, the Excelsior Springs varsity girls basketball team took fifth at the Husker Classic. And for the second straight season, the Tigers edged a familiar foe to win the fifth-place game: Richmond.

Body EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – On Dec. 10, the high school gym was packed, as 19 schools competed in the Excelsior Springs Girls Tournament.

Body HIGGINSVILLE – Coming off a 59-54 win over Cameron Dec. 7 at Lafayette County of Higginsville in the Husker Classic, the Tigers were looking to find a way to put two wins together in varsity boys basketball.

Body KANSAS CITY – A day of grappling Dec. 4 at the Park Hill Duals ended with the Excelsior Springs boys wrestling team going 2-3 and finishing third.

Body PLEASANT HILL – The Tigers produced one champion, one runner-up, one third-place finisher and one fourthplace finisher in their first girls wrestling tournament this season.

Body KANSAS CITY – The end of Excelsior Springs’ varsity volleyball season in October did not end the careers of seniors Kyli Crowley and Rylie Stottlemyre.

Body EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Putting together four good quarters was an issue for the Tigers the first four games of the varsity girls basketball season.

Body HIGGINSVILLE – The Tigers’ first win of this varsity boys basketball season came sooner than it did last season. And the 2019-2020 season.

Body EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers will feature a combination of youth and experience on the mat this varsity girls wrestling season. Seniors Jacey Brewer and Paige Barber are among the experienced grapplers.

Body EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Coach J.D. Biermann has high expectations for his Tigers for the now-underway varsity girls basketball season.
