Excelsior Springs varsity girls basketball coach JD Biermann and his Tigers get to stay home to start postseason play. The Tigers, who were 8-12 overall entering Wednesday’s regular-season road meeting with Oak Grove, will host the Class 4 District 15 Tournament.

Winter weather keeps boys hoopsters off the hardwood

The latest winter storm has suspended activity for the Excelsior Springs varsity boys basketball team. Like their girls counterparts, the Excelsior Springs boys were scheduled to face Kearney Tuesday at Excelsior Springs in Greater Kansas City Suburban Conference-Blue Division action.

Excelsior Springs seeks its first win in varsity boys basketball as the end of the regular season approaches. The Tigers are 0-19 overall entering a Greater Kansas City Suburban Conference-Blue Division meeting with Grandview, slated for Friday at Grandview.
