Tigers go west for district tourney

Body Unlike their girls counterparts, the Excelsior Springs boys will hit the road to start the basketball postseason. The Tigers, who were 0-22 entering Wednesday’s regular-season road meeting with Oak Grove, will open Class 4 District 15 Tournament play at 7 p.m.

Girls hoopsters begin postseason at home

Body Excelsior Springs varsity girls basketball coach JD Biermann and his Tigers get to stay home to start postseason play. The Tigers, who were 8-12 overall entering Wednesday’s regular-season road meeting with Oak Grove, will host the Class 4 District 15 Tournament.

Goetz punches ticket to state

Body Lilly Goetz will soon experience what it’s like to wrestle in a state high school tournament. Goetz, an Excelsior Springs freshman, will compete at Class 1 state girls competition, slated for Feb.
