Republican Kurtis Gregory, state representative for the 51st District, has announced his bid for the Missouri Senate’s 21st District seat, running against Doug Richey. The district is currently represented by Senator Denny Hoskins, who cannot seek reelection due to term limitations.

Housing Authority inches toward capacity

The Excelsior Springs Housing Authority discussed capacity limits for their properties and the amount of Section 8 vouchers they are utilizing during a recent board meeting. Housing Authority Executive Director Carrie Hiltner informed the board that the current occupancy capacities for housing authority apartment buildings is as follows: • Housing Authority main apartment complex — 96% occupancy • Philly apartment complex —91% occupancy • Saratoga apartment complex — 88% occupancy.
