Excelsior seeks Census Bureau review of count

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Census Bureau showed a sharp population decline for Excelsior Springs, which city officials disputed in August and are appealing. Based on the bureau’s count, the number of people living in the city dropped from 11,081 in 2010 to 10,553 after the 2020 count.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers are off to a winning start in 2022 in varsity girls basketball. After dropping its last two games of 2021, Excelsior Springs won two of its first three to start the new year.

She is the beloved wife of Larry Johnson. She is survived by her brother, Douglas A. Rice Jr. (Ursula) of Trimble, MO.  Mother to Rachel Johnson (Corey) of Parkville, Emilee Martin of Orrick and Dana Martin (Casey) of Kansas City. Stepson Dustin Johnson and Stepdaughter Melanie Johnson of Richmond.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Multiple Tigers received postseason football awards. Juniors Ryan Gluhm and Tyson Solberg led the way as third-team all-state picks in Class 4, as named in December by the Missouri Football Coaches Association.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Four individuals and four teams will enter the ESHS Athletic Hall of Fame this year. The inductees were announced over the holiday break.

Jon Bradley Davis, 32, of Excelsior Springs, MO, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021, at his residence. He was born on Friday, March 3, 1989, in Kansas City, MO the son of Janet Stewart. 

He was an assembly worker at Miller Custom Cabinets.
