Excelsior Springs School District welcomes new administrators

CORNERSTONE ELEMENTARY: Jessica Broadbent, Cornerstone Elementary School’s new principal, has been a teacher, instructional coach and assistant principal. She has been with the Excelsior Springs School District for 13 years and said the city has a supportive community with amazing kids. “Our community rallies around us and supports everything we do,” Broadbent said. “I’m excited to move into this new role and highlight all the great things we don’t always see from the outside.”

Future plans discussed at SAFE meeting, data shared

Ability to access healthy food discussed

Everyone deserves access to healthy food and recently, the Northland Health Alliance (NHA) partnered with the Platte County Health Department to discuss programs for people to receive nutritious foods in Clay County.

Fall sports practices begin at ESHS

School hasn’t started at Excelsior Springs, but fall sports practices have. Nearly 200 athletes had their first preseason practice with an Excelsior Springs fall program Monday – the first day fall teams could practice, per Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) regulations.
