Ganzer leads mix of maturity, youth onto soccer pitch

Chappel eyes return to state, Tigers eye MRVC title

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers are looking to build upon the thrill they felt last season from getting Hope Chappel to the Class 1 state tournament. David Stalder, who is in his third season of leading Excelsior Springs girls golf, expects Chappel and her teammates to contend for the Missouri River Valley Conference title this season.

Rawie’s expectations ‘pretty high’ for softballers

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Coach Megan Rawie can enjoy a few luxuries as she begins her second season as Excelsior Springs varsity softball coach. One luxury is six returning starters from a team that went 15-7 overall and 6-4 in the Missouri River Valley Conference West Division – good enough for second place.

Driver loses ‘demolition derby’ to police

CRYSTAL LAKES – After allegedly stealing a vehicle and playing “demolition derby” with two Excelsior Springs Police Department vehicles, being knocked off the highway and overturning, and then trying to escape on foot, twice, Bobbie Marie Bauman, 37, Excelsior Springs, is in the Ray County Jail.
