Following a road rage shooting, an Excelsior Springs transient was identified and arrested by the Excelsior Springs Police Department (ESPD), with help from Clay County Sheriff’s Office. Paul C.

Four firefighters from the Excelsior Springs Fire Department (ESFD) bravely participated in the poignant Kansas City 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb. Their noble act was a heartfelt tribute to the fallen firefighters of Sept.11, 2001, honoring their bravery and sacrifice.

A suspect believed to be involved in a drive-by shooting was apprehended by Kearney Police, with the collaboration and support of the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Platte County Sheriff’s Office and Riverside Police Department.

A comprehensive presentation designed to educate the community was given during a recent Substance Abuse Free Environments (SAFE) meeting. Residents in attendance learned ways social determinants of health (SDOH) and poverty affect the protective factors for youth.
