An Excelsior Springs alum has become a three-time college All-American wrestler. DamonAshworth, a 2021 graduate and redshirt junior at the University of Central Missouri, secured his latest All-American honor by placing fourth in the 184-pound division recently at the NCAA Division II national tournament.

ES girls end title drought

A long drought for Excelsior Springs in varsity girls basketball is over. By holding off Richmond 48-45 March 8 at Excelsior Springs, the Tigers won the Class 4 District 15 title – the program’s first district crown since 2007.

Williams receives Player of the Week honor

An Excelsior Springs High School alumna is drawing attention for her softball skills in junior college. Daelyn Williams, who graduated in 2023, was named National Junior College Athletic Association Region 16 Player of the Week recently for her contributions to Metropolitan Community College (MCC)-Kansas City’s opening week.
