Biermann-Kennedy team ties for fourth at scramble

Seniors Landon Biermann and Tayvion Kennedy were a top-five combo when they paired up for Excelsior Springs at the Platte County Pirate Scramble. Biermann and Kennedy shot a 69 to tie for fourth at the April 1 varsity boys golf competition, held at Shiloh Springs Golf Course in Platte City.

Baseballers ‘cruising along O.K.’ early in season

Reese Ryan held her own against competition from larger schools when she and her Excelsior Springs teammates competed at the Ron Ives Invitational. Ryan, a first-year high schooler, placed third in the triple jump at the March 21 track and field meet, hosted by Liberty High School.

Baseballers eye another district title

Improvement is Albertson’s emphasis for ESTF

Excelsior Springs track coach Jonah Albertson has one goal he wants his 100 athletes to achieve this season: to continuously improve. “While we celebrate medals, we also celebrate personal records and offer opportunities to each athlete, and we have had a strong start to the season,” Albertson said.

Girls soccer squad looks to fill voids on offense

Excelsior Springs has some voids to fill on offense this season in varsity girls soccer. “We lost a chunk of our goals and assists to graduation last year, but we also return and bring in a host of talent,” coach Brett McKenzie said.

Golf team’s expectations run high

Excelsior Springs coach David Stalder and his Tigers have high expectations for this varsity boys golf season. “We expect to compete well throughout the year and build toward the conference and district tournaments and get multiple people to the state championship tournament this spring,” Stalder said.
