Another Excelsior Springs softballer is taking her game beyond high school. Senior Daelyn Williams has signed to continue her athletic career and education at Metropolitan Community College-Maple Woods in Kansas City.

Jaxen Gibson has his first win this season. Pitching in relief for Greenville (Ill.) University, an NCAA Division III program, the 2019 Excelsior Springs graduate struck out two, walked two and allowed only one hit through four innings of the Panthers’ 9-4 victory Feb.

Excelsior Springs’ late-season winning streak in varsity boys basketball got cut short. After finishing the regular season with a win to snap a six-game losing streak, the Tigers opened the Class 4 District 15 Tournament by edging Northeast of Kansas City 53-47 Feb.

The Tigers ended their losing streak in varsity girls basketball in district play. They also ended their season in district play.

COLUMBIA – Excelsior Springs has another state boys wrestling champion. Cooper Collins won the 113-pound title at the Class 2 tournament, held Feb.

Joe Greim is receiving recognition as he finishes his career in education. The Excelsior Springs activities director, who’ll soon retire after a 30year career, received the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) Distinguished Service Award in February during state wrestling competition in Columbia.

COLUMBIA – Vada Burton got a medal to show for her final high school wrestling tournament. The Excelsior Springs senior placed sixth in the 130-pound division at the Class 1 girls state meet, held Feb.

Excelsior Springs ended the regular season of varsity boys basketball with a win – and started the postseason with one. The Tigers were slated to face Odessa Wednesday night in the Class 4 District 15 Tournament semifinals at Oak Grove.
