The Excelsior Springs Police Department reported the following arrests handled recently by the department. Wednesday, June 28 At 6:10 p.m., Danielle Smith, 38, was arrested for identity theft or attempt.

After a vehicle was reported stolen from Casey’s gas station in Polo, Ray County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) Deputy Robbie Cox located and initiated the pursuit of the vehicle on Palmer Drive.
Demolition has begun at Lewis Elementary School following unanimous approval of the site plan by Excelsior Springs City Council. The site and plat plan for the new school was presented by Excelsior Springs City Planner Shantele Frie, who explained the new development will comply with the city codes and design standards.
