The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will close Missouri Highway 92, both eastbound and westbound, between Cameron Road and Route RA/Old Quarry Road near Kearney, beginning at 5 a.m.

Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 48-year-old Amy Sloan, who was last seen in Excelsior Springs on June 4. Sloan is described as a white female, 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing approximately 190 pounds.

Troopers bring Buffalo Soldiers’ story to life

The weight of history rode in on iron wheels, cavalry boots and the voices of those determined to make sure the story never fades. Inside the visitor center at Watkins Mill State Park, a crowd listened closely as the stories of the Buffalo Soldiers unfolded – not just names from the past, but lives lived through war, survival and unshakable service.
MEMBERS OF THE GREATER Kansas City-Leavenworth Area Chapter of the 9th and 10th (Horse) Cavalry Association present a Buffalo Soldiers program at Watkins Mill State Park.
