Vehicle lands in Veterans Hall roof

Body A registered sex offender — who was allegedly fleeing from law enforcement with two juveniles in the vehicle — has been charged after his vehicle went airborne and crashed into the roof of the Clay-Ray Veterans Hall, located at 208 Veterans Memorial Drive.

REAL ID enforcement deadline nearing

Body The May 7 deadline for the federal REAL ID enforcement is now less than four months away and the Missouri Department of Revenue (MDR) is urging residents to ensure they are prepared. Currently, only 41% of Missouri’s total document holders have a REAL ID.

Community improvements approved

Body The Excelsior Springs City Council unanimously approved an agreement with Navitas to replace and upgrade the community center’s pool air handling system, commonly referred to as the “pool pack.”

ESSD opts to change conferences

Body The Excelsior Springs School District will officially transition from the Greater Kansas City Suburban Conference’s Blue Division to the Midland Empire Conference (MEC), starting in the 2026-27 school year.
