Darlene O'Dell, 82, died July 28, 2021, at her home in Elkhorn, Missouri, where she had lived since 1960. Her daughters were by her side.
Darlene was born September 18, 1938, at her home near Lawson, MO to Vern and Nellie (Mayes) Elliott. Darlene married Ralph O’Dell on October 12, 1957, and they enjoyed 61 years together.
Nancy Sue Coker was taken from us July 19, 2021 as the Lord see fit. She was preceded in death by her mother Elsie B. Coker, father Thomas C. Coker, brother Terry S. Coker and is survived by brother J. Coker. She went out with shooting star I knew she was at rest and at peace. We will celebrate her life on her birthday at home 9-16-2021. Robert (Bob) E. Mahoney, 77, took the checkered flag peacefully at home on July 19, 2021. Cause of death may have been from when his liver went into shock from lack of beer and cigarettes he had to give up the last months of his life. A visitation will be held 12-2pm, Thursday, July 22 with service following at Union Baptist Church, Orrick, MO. with burial at Moore Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
Glenn W. Clevenger Sr., 81, Excelsior Springs, MO. passed away peacefully at his home July 18, 2021 surrounded by his family. Visitation will be held 10-11am, Wednesday, July 21, 2021 with service following at North New Garden Baptist Church, Excelsior Springs with burial at North New Garden Cemetery. Born Feb 15, 1937, died July 17th, 2021. Larry was born in Coffeyville, Kansas. He retired from the air force after serving 22 years. He leaves his wife, Mary Joyce Owens; son, Randy Dean Owens; two grandchildren, Dominique Moon and her son, Anakin, and Brandon Owen, his wife, Angie, and daughter, Nova. Freddie Junior Vanderpool passed away July 13, 2021, at his home.
Freddie was born December 17,1942, in Liberty, MO to Fred and Marie
(Woods) Vanderpool. Freddie was raised in Excelsior Springs, graduating from Excelsior
Springs High School in 1960. He served in the US Army National Guard from 1964 – 1973 as a dog handler at NIKE bases in Lawson, MO and Franklin Lakes, NJ.
On Monday, Dec. 7, 2020, Arthur R. “Pete” Hartman, 79, passed away at his home in Excelsior Springs.
Services will be July 21, 2021, at 10 a.m., at Higginsville Veterans Cemetery.
Mark Heavelow,71, of Lawson passed away July 7, 2021 at home. Mark was born July 15,1949.
He worked at Ford Motor Company for 30 years and was retired for 23 years, spending that time with his family.
Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Goldie (Scobee) Heavelow; his father, William Heavelow; and his brothers, Larry and Lonnie Heavelow.
