Body CARROLLTON – In late March, KMZU announced its latest Dream Teams for high school boys and girls basketball. Excelsior Springs juniors Mallory Millsap and Rylie Stottlemyre made the cut for the girls team.

Body EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The varsity tennis team got to stay home last week. Excelsior Excelsior Springs hosted back-to-back home duals, falling 9-0 March 30 to Warrensburg and defeating Lexington 6-3 April 1.

Body RAYTOWN – Allowing big innings has sent the Tigers into a losing skid. After opening the varsity baseball season with a win over Mexico, Excelsior Springs had lost five straight through Tuesday, including three games this past weekend.

Body CLINTON – The Tigers wasted no time in getting their first win of the varsity boys tennis season, sweeping Clinton 9-0 March 26 in their season opener in Missouri River Valley Conference action. “It was great to be able to open up the season with a win,” coach Richie Marsh said.

Body SUGAR CREEK – Excelsior Springs’ club bowling season is underway. The club opened March 14 at Sterling Bowl, home center for Fort Osage’s club team.

Body KEARNEY – Excelsior Springs’ track and field season has begun. The Tigers opened March 26 at Kearney with a triangular that also included Oak Park.

Body EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Hope Chappel will be an Eagle in a few months, but she will remain a Tiger at heart. The Excelsior Springs senior has signed a letter of intent to continue her education and golf career at Central Methodist University in Fayette.

Body MEXICO – Excelsior Springs played baseball for the first time since May 2019. Over the weekend, the Tigers visited faced Mexico and Marshfield in an annual triangular to start the season in Mexico.

Body BLUE SPRINGS – The Tigers had to deal with more than a wet, cold and windy day last week when they played in their first boys golf tournament this season.

Body EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Varsity track and field coach Jonah Albertson sees potential in his Tigers as they prep for the season. “We have a young team, but I feel we have a promising future that will show by the end of the season,” Albertson said.
