Body Over the weekend, the ES Cyclones did something many sports teams don’t get to do – finish the season with a win. The Cyclones finished by winning the title game for the 16-and-under A Division Sunday night at the Heartland World Series.

Body Last week, nearly 80 Excelsior Springs youngsters learned some of the skills they’ll need to be football players.

Body A discussion will be held in Excelsior Springs to discuss the city’s need for Eden Village, a non-profit organization aiming to end homelessness. The discussion will take place Thursday, July 27, at the Mid-Continent Public Library in Excelsior Springs.

Body The demolition of Lewis Elementary School built in 1951 is underway. Construction of the new school is expected to be completed in time for the 2025 school year.

Body to PRO High heat, drop kicks, random observations and points that amuse are all part of the wide, wide world of sports at the community and national levels. It’s unfortunate that Excelsior Springs and Richmond don’t play each other in varsity 11-man football anymore.
