Tigers split four ballgames in packed week

Mineral Water Classic

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers tallied 22 top-10 girls and 28 top-10 boys finishes when they hosted the Mineral Water Classic April 23 at Tiger Stadium. For the Excelsior Springs girls, who finished second in the team standings with 99 points, those finishes included four event wins.

School district OKs energy program

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The school district is entering a program that might reduce its carbon footprint while helping reduce the chances the area will experience rolling blackouts during extreme weather, like some parts of the country experienced this winter.

Board receives summer school info

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Superintendent Dan Hoehn recommended the Excelsior Springs School District reevaluate the size of summer school programs in 2022. Hoehn, who will retire in June, made his recommendation during the Board of Education’s April 12 meeting following a report by Anneliese Tadlock.

City awards overlay contract

On April 5, the City Council approved a resolution to hire Kansas City-based Superior Bowen Asphalt Co. LLC to do overlay work. Superior Bowen has worked on projects such as the Kansas Speedway racetrack in Wyandotte County, Kansas, and on Kansas City’s downtown loop.
