Tigers split four ballgames in packed week

Body EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Last week, the Tigers continued their busy varsity baseball schedule, splitting four games. For their first game, the Tigers resumed play in the Northland Tournament, traveling April 22 to Fort Osage and winning 8-7.

Mineral Water Classic

Body EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers tallied 22 top-10 girls and 28 top-10 boys finishes when they hosted the Mineral Water Classic April 23 at Tiger Stadium.

School district OKs energy program

Body EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The school district is entering a program that might reduce its carbon footprint while helping reduce the chances the area will experience rolling blackouts during extreme weather, like some parts of the country experienced this winter.

City awards overlay contract

Body On April 5, the City Council approved a resolution to hire Kansas City-based Superior Bowen Asphalt Co. LLC to do overlay work. Superior Bowen has worked on projects such as the Kansas Speedway racetrack in Wyandotte County, Kansas, and on Kansas City’s downtown loop.
