COLUMBIA – Missouri Statehood Day, Aug. 10, marks a milestone of 200 years since the Missouri Territory became the 24th state to enter the Union.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers tallied 22 top-10 girls and 28 top-10 boys finishes when they hosted the Mineral Water Classic April 23 at Tiger Stadium. For the Excelsior Springs girls, who finished second in the team standings with 99 points, those finishes included four event wins.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Board of Education approved two measures to spruce up the Excelsior Springs Early Childhood Center, or ECC. During the April 12 meeting, the board approved a request submitted by Superintendent Dan Hoehn to buy supplies, priced at $42,147.

WASHINGTON – Missouri’s congressional districts will contain more people, the total number of districts will not change and the nation added more than 26 million residents, based on U.S. Census Bureau statistics released Monday.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – A steady flow of guests has streamed into the Excelsior Springs Museum to view the Missouri statehood exhibit that continues through May 14, museum operations director Kathy Duncan said Tuesday.
