Academic school year extended

The Excelsior Springs School District (ESSD) has officially decided to extend the school year. After careful consideration and in response to several weather-related closures that affected the school calendar earlier in the year, the district has decided to conclude the school year on May 22, rather than May 20 as originally planned.

Turkeys harvested over youth weekend

Preliminary data from the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) shows that young turkey hunters in Missouri harvested 4,428 birds over the past youth weekend, April 12-13. The top harvest counties were Osage with 107 birds harvested, Gasconade with 105 and Texas, 94.
