The Excelsior Springs Police Department reported the following arrests handled recently by the department. WEDNESDAY, MAY 17 At 12:51 p.m., Curtis Walters, 52, was arrested for civil commitment.

OZARK – Excelsior Springs was among a handful of baseball teams to finish this season on a winning note. The Tigers capped their season with 6-5 victory over Fulton on June 1 at Sky Bacon Stadium in the third-place game of the Class 4 state tournament, with Kaelan Bedford providing the game-winning hit in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Wilderness Camp offers summer fun for all ages

Aside from spending time outdoors, summer camps allow children to connect with their peers and engage in recreational activities. “All are welcome at Wilderness Camp, and it is truly a place run by those who see value in it,” Director of Camp Ministries Bo Tucker said.

ES Library plans summer events

The Mid-Continent Public Library located at 1460 Kearney Road in Excelsior Springs will be hosting several summer events in June for children of all ages. Planned events include: • June 12 6:30-8:30 p.m.

ESCC Pool project moves closer to completion

PROGRESS CONTINUES towards completion of the outdoor pool project at the Excelsior Springs Community Center, with no opening date determined at this time. The latest round of updates include: chemicals being added by hand to the pool, final wiring on equipment, putting spray pad fixtures in place, setting storage building steel, placing black dirt around the pool for landscaping, and installing exhaust fan in the mechanical room. In addition, Royal Construction, SFS Architecture and Water Technology, completed a walk-through of the facility.

NTRC Horses heal, promote growth

Equine therapy utilizes a connection between people and horses to increase physical and emotional healing. The Northland Therapeutic Riding Center (NTRC), located in Holt, MO, is a non-profit organization helping children ages 4 and over with special needs.
