The Excelsior Springs Board of Education has filled a vacancy. Nominated by Troy Snelling, the board unanimously approved Jill Evert Monday night at the Support Services Center to finish Steve Houck’s term as director.

‘Suspicious package’ draws FBI investigation

There’s an ongoing investigation headed by the FBI regarding a “suspicious package” left on Nike Base Road in Lawson. Lawson Fire and Rescue and the Ray County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched Monday to the scene.

Teammates give back on Tiger Service Day

On July 13, 54 Excelsior Springs High School football players got together to give back to the community and observe an annual tradition – Tiger Service Day. “It’s a day to get out in the community and give back, get our players kind of used to the thought of helping others selflessly,” varsity coach Mark Faubion said.
